Scott is the lead pastor at The Pointe. He was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1976. When he was 4 years old, his family moved to the small island of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. His parents became missionaries in 1980 with Trans World Radio, and they served for eight years on the beautiful tropical island of Bonaire. He was an outdoor, underwater enthusiast. He loved the ocean, all the tropical fish, and the many adventures they experienced as a young family. He learned Dutch and Papiamento(Portuguese/African dialect) and quickly immersed himself as a third culture kid. Life was not always easy for his family on the island but it was a place of refuge in many ways for them.
When he was 12, his family moved to the city of Quito, Ecuador in South America. He left his small island of ten thousand people at sea level for a bustling city of 1.5 million, ten thousand feet high in the Andes Mountains. Living in Ecuador was a blessing in so many ways, even though it was a major adjustment for him and all of his siblings. He was able to learn Spanish and continue his journey as a third culture missionary kid in this country. God gave his family the gift of living overseas and learning His heart for the nations. Little did he know that years later he would be a Pastor involved with young adults from the nations in the same city that he attended college.
After he graduated from high school in 1995, he was accepted as a freshmen at John Brown University, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He graduated in 1999 with a degree in Youth Ministry. He knew that the Lord had called him to ministry in college, but he did not know that he would spend the next 15 years learning that his identity would not come from the ministry he would do, or how much he could accomplish for God. In many ways he thought that his ministry calling was a thing of the past, as he got married to his lovely wife Molly and began working as a professional painter to provide financially for his family. Together the Lord had them serve in a couple of churches in North Kansas City for ten years. He worked at a Southern Baptist Seminary as a Maintenance Supervisor, where many of his friends were Pastor's in training. His training would not so much come from the Seminary classroom, but in taking care of the students in the Housing on Campus. He was responsible for 150 apartment units, making sure that all plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling was working properly. God gave him the keys to all these apartments, where Godly men and women were being trained as Pastors and Missionaries.
After an intense summer of waiting on the decision of who would be chosen as the Lead Pastor of The Pointe church in Siloam Springs, he got the call on September 27th that he was the unanimous decision among the Elders, Staff, and those in the church. He was truly humbled and felt very inadequate for what he was about to step into. He and his wife, along with their three wonderful children, relocated to Siloam Springs on December 5th, 2014 to begin their new role and ministry as Lead Pastor of The Pointe. God has been faithful and Scott is grateful for this opportunity to help lead this body with wonderful men and women.
He is passionate about the body of Christ being a healthy and thriving Family on Mission. He believes that God has established the Family to be a living, thriving, and beautiful expression of His heart here on earth. He is passionate about the nations, and those who have never heard of the beautiful Gospel of Jesus Christ. He desires to excel in love for the body, for the lost, and for all those who want to give their hearts living for Jesus. He has been called to the ministry of reconciliation, calling forth unity and love among the beautiful body of Christ. He is excited for this season and all that lies ahead as we seek to honor God in all that we do and say.
Scott and his wife, Molly, have four kids (Josiah, Olivia, Daniel, and Haven).
Ron serves as one of our beloved Associate Pastors. He is a regular teacher at The Pointe, and also is responsible for Christian education, adult and youth ministries, home groups, the church deacons. He currently serves as Chairman of the Siloam Springs Ministerial Association.
Ron has spent over forty years helping believers understand God’s word and its relevance in today’s world. He loves to make the Bible come alive and to explore today’s headlines in light of scripture, and his enthusiastic love for the Word is contagious. His formal training was in Christian education at Concordia University, Wayne State University, and Concordia Seminary. His experiences as a mortgage banking executive in Detroit Michigan, Houston, Texas, and Beverly Hills, California, help him present a perspective which is informed, realistic, and refreshing.
Ron is known by many as our local Bible Answer Man. It’s pretty hard to mention anything regarding God’s word that Ron can’t explain or expound upon. Ron and his wife, Bonnie, love serving the lord ministering together at The Pointe and in the community.
Bonnie wears many hats, but her heart is for Women's Ministry. Her life has been one of contrasts. Although she was raised in a small farm community in the central U.S., she lived most of her adult life in and around the large cities of Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Countering her upbringing that girls were not supposed to have careers, she earned a Master’s Degree in Business, and aggressively pursued a career in Corporate America, becoming an executive in several large financial institutions. And, in spite of her Christian upbringing and strong family roots, she walked away from the Lord to pursue the offerings of the world.
After two failed marriages, she met her husband, Ron, and recommitted her life to Christ. She left the corporate world, and helped Ron run their Christian bookstore while serving as CFO of a large Gospel Mission operation in Northern California. Bonnie shares from a heart which has been broken, and then restored by the Lord. She finds great joy in sharing her story, and encourages others that,
I have learned from personal experience that the world’s way leads to destruction, but God is a great God who can redeem the years that the locust has eaten.
This has been proven repeatedly as she has ministered to women and college students from the pain of her past to help others find Christ’s restoration and freedom. In 2006, she and Ron left California and moved to Siloam Springs, where the Lord quickly planted them at The Pointe.
She and Ron have been married over twenty-eight years, and share three children, seven grand-children, and three great-grandchildren.
Our Worship Pastor, David, is a 4th generation Siloam Springs native. He is a graduate of College of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri where he earned a BA in Graphic Arts. After college, he accepted a position as the production manager at the local newspaper and moved back to Siloam Springs. He has been attending The Pointe since 2005.
David met his wife, Jesyka, at the church in 2006 and they married in the fall of 2008 at his parents’ home, just outside of Siloam Springs.
David has been involved in music and worship since serving on the worship team at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church (Siloam Springs) as a teenager. Since then he has had the opportunity to lead worship for many organizations and events.
He is responsible for raising up and equipping a community of worshippers at The Pointe. David’s heart's desire is for The Pointe to be a place where people can come and truly encounter Jesus.
He also serves on the Prayer Room Leadership Team at The Pointe and is also currently employed by Total Document Solutions in Fayetteville, AR as a sales consultant and teaches guitar at John Brown University.
David’s latest solo, instrumental album is called After the Flood and he has recorded an album, Fool for Now, with Tabbitha Easley, also of The Pointe. He occasionally surprises the body at The Pointe with a bluegrass / gospel worship service featuring The Sons of Otis Malone, the band he performs with in his "spare time."
Jesyka is our Children's Pastor. She is an Arkansas native who grew up in Hazel Valley [more commonly referred to as "the sticks."] She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Colorado Christian University in 2006 and after graduation, returned to Arkansas. She accepted a position in the Admissions Office at John Brown University, where she worked until 2014. She began serving as the Children's Pastor at The Pointe in July of 2014 and serves on the worship team as well. She is quite fond of Siloam Springs and is involved with the local Farmer's Market and helps plan The Homegrown Festival [an event that showcases local artisans, musicians, and food].
She and David welcomed their first child, a daughter named Temple Grae, in May of 2015. Temple's arrival replaced the role of "children" formerly held by their chocolate labs.
Jesyka has been involved in various forms of ministry since she was in jr. high, serving as a Bible Study leader, leading worship with her older brother, and volunteering as a camp counselor at Camp Barnabas, in Purdy, MO.
Jim serves The Pointe as Associate Pastor. He and his family moved to Siloam Springs in 1991, from the island of Papua New Guinea, where they served for 5 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators. His passion for the international prayer movement lead him, along with Jon Marc Davis (now a missionary in Israel), to birth the House of Prayer in Siloam in 1998. In his capacity as Associate Pastor of The Pointe, he provides oversight of the Community Prayer Room, hosted at The Pointe.
Jim and his wife Jane (she works at KLRC) have been married for over 40 years, and have served at The Pointe since 2005. They have 3 children, and 8 grandchildren. He is an Air Force veteran from the Vietnam Era, and a graduate of New Tribes Bible Institute, and John Brown University (BA in Pastoral Studies, w/Bible emphasis).
Justin serves as an Elder and as the Youth Coordinator for The Pointe. He was born in Wichita, KS and grew up here in Siloam. He graduated from Siloam Springs High School and attended NWACC. During that season of life, he had a Divine hunger for God imparted as he began to seek out any and every church or spiritual mentor he could find to support him in the process of pursuing the Lord. Justin was marked for a life of prayer early in his journey when he joined himself to Antioch church and the Siloam Springs House of Prayer as a part of his ministry calling. He was soon sought out by local church leadership as an intern and put through extensive Biblical training. God used several people and organizations to invest in Justin's journey, but he eventually ended up as a Student Pastor at a church in Texas called called Calvary Community Church. He was ordained and pastored there for about 3 years before God called him back to NWA.
Justin is married to his wife Renee, and they have two small children, Myles and Coen Johnson. Justin's heart burns brightly for Jesus and seeing others discipled. He also enjoys the outdoors and exercise when he can find the spare time!
